It's cheap, quick to cast, and just looks cool. It is the first step to starting your path to invulnerability. After Snilloc's, get Mirror Image as soon as you can.you'll want to wipe the lot of them out as soon as possible. All those ogres and archers shooting at your poor vulnerable mage with no defenses on. Snilloc's Snowball Swarm is vital to beating the first cave. You won't have friends to help you mop up anything, so disabling is somewhat trivial, especially when they won't be able to hit you, anyways. The focus for this build is to wipe out as many enemies quickly with area of effect spells. are amazing as well, but for a solo character you won't really need them. Don't worry about the -1 spell per level from being a dragon disciple. Spells can be a bit scarce at the starting, but once you start getting to the higher levels, you'll have more than you'll know what to do with. You'll be able to tank Belhifet without getting hurt once. All the bonuses add up, and they, along with your natural AC bonuses from being a dragon disciple, will only make things better. Use robes (like the one of Enfusing) that give a bonus, instead of directly setting your AC to a static number. Use Spirit Armor as your main AC lowering spell, and build your gear around it. You should strive to make your AC as low as possible. This is a bit trivial though, as you'll eventually be able to cast ten level two spells so it's really not that serious. There's a sash that grants permanent blur, but only for good characters. The ideal alignment in my opinion would be any Good. The only damage you should be taking is from the expiration of Spirit Armor and maybe the occasional trap.My build doesn't cover acid or electricity resistance, but there's potions and scrolls for it. Along with buffs the enemies should only be able to hit you on a natural twenty, and even so, your defenses will mitigate the damage. The Potion of Defense that lowers AC to zero for two hours is a big help, but best saved for the most vital fights since they are fairly rare. Besides your defenses, potions and scrolls are your friend. You'll eventually have more money than you'll need, so don't worry about picking up every generic axe, arrow, or even the potions you can't use. You can hold an entire six characters worth of inventory with just these four items. Without them, you will run out of inventory space quickly. Buy the Bag of Holding, Potion Bag, Ammo Belt, and Gem Bag as soon as you can. You'll reach this about halfway through the last chapter if you do all the sidequests and such, without grinding. It appears the experience caps out at eight million, which is the equivalent of level thirty.I just entered Kuldahar last night when I quit. The game so far has been fairly easy, even the fight against the four ogres in the starting cave. My priorities so far are to get melf's minute meteors to beat Yxunomei, since she's the first real challenge I think I'll face. And he's fairly charismatic, regardless if it doesn't influence his class. Int and Wis 12 for roleplay reasons, he's not dumb as a rock, or wise as. Con for the highest HP he can have each level. My last sorcerer stood toe to toe with him and won, so I have an idea how I will do this. My main goal is to have his AC as low as possible for Belhifet, as he will go down rather fast if he's not buff/protected carefully. He'll be lugging a lot of sh!t around, plus high strength will boost his sling damage.
